Srinagar, Oct. 25 (TNS): Former Jammu and Kashmir chief minister Ghulam Nabi Azad questioned the real intent of the Centre in appointing an interlocutor and wanted to know why no timeframe has been announced for the interlocutor to complete his mission with the various stakeholders.
Many Opposition leaders privately feel that the Centre’s move is more “tactical” in nature than “defensive”.
At a press conference Azad said: “For three and-a-half years, the Modi government followed hot pursuit. Now, towards the fag end of its term, the government is talking of dialogue to garner some publicity.

The Congress leader then recited a couplet — ‘Tamannao me uljahaya gaya hoon/khilone dekar behlaya gaya hoon (I have been trapped in wishful thinking/I have been mollified by toys),” to drive home the point that the government’s dialogue initiative has come too late and lacks a fixed timeframe.
