Islamabad, Nov. 30 (TNS): Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) lost all ethical values as the party approached Election Commission of Pakistan to take legal action against ailing Kulsoom Nawaz for not taking oath after winning NA-120 by-elections.

Kulsoom Nawaz is undergoing medical treatment for cancer in London hospital.

The letter was drafted by PTI Spokesperson Fawad Chaudhry who put forth a series of questions regarding Kulsoom’s win.

“On 27th September, the ECP issued a notification regarding Kulsoom Nawaz’s win.

After winning the elections, it is a legal requirement for the winning candidate to take an oath in the National Assembly. Since she won, three joint sessions of the NA have already been held and the fourth has been summoned by the president,” states the letter.

Chaudhry further states that Kulsoom has failed to fulfill the legal requirements since winning office.

“Thousands of people from the NA-120 constituency are deprived of a representative.”

Chaudhry asks for legal and constitutional views of the election commissioner on the questions he has put forth so that people may be able to make informed decisions.

“The right to this information is the people’s constitutional right,” he states.
