Islamabad March 3 (TNS): Former interior minister and Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz leader Chaudhry Nisar Ali said on Saturday said that government institutions should play a role to prevent alleged horse-trading in Senate elections.

Talking to media outside after casting his vote in Senate polls, Nisar said that he has not been part of any PML-N parliamentary meeting for the last four years. Why my absence has created such an issue this time around, he questioned.

Nisar said that he had a meeting with ex-prime minister Nawaz Sharif but they did not discuss the Senate elections.

Responding to a question, Nisar said that “this is not the occasion to discuss party matters”.

Meanwhile, Nisar recalled his friendship with Pakistan Tehreek-insaf chief Imran Khan when he was also a cricketer in the past.
