Islamabad March 29 (TNS): Classes resumed at the Quaid-e-Azam University (QAU) on Thursday after a lull of over one month after the premier university remained shut as the staff association, the faculty and the vice-chancellor locked horns, after the former accused the latter of corruption and nepotism.

Meanwhile, the appointing authority has sent QAU Vice-Chancellor Dr Javed Ashraf on a 10-day leave while handing over the administration of the university to an interim set up.

The wrangling between the faculty and the vice-chancellor has taken a serious toll on the studies of the students as teachers boycotted classes while staging a sit-in almost on a daily basis, demanding the resignation of the vice-chancellor, who stuck to the seat, rebuffing the allegations against him.
