PFA seals factory for producing substandard ‘kulfa’ & ice-cream

LAHORE, July 27 (TNS): The Punjab Food Authority (PFA) sealed a factory for producing substandard ‘kulfa’ and ice-cream here on Thursday.

Headed by Additional Director General (ADG) PFA Rafia Haider, a team of the Authority raided a renowned ‘kulfa’ factory located at Ferozpur Road, Lahore.

The factory was found to be involved in using vegetable fat, flavours and chemicals in production of ‘kulfa’ and ice-cream which was supplied to wedding halls and catering companies.

The recovered ‘kulfa’ and ice-cream also lacked expiry date on the cover.

The PFA seized the recovered material, sealed the factory and after registering a case against the owner and employees of the factory have started an investigation.
