Punjab Govt to establish 1200 MW gas power plant: Shahbaz

LAHORE, July 29 (TNS): The Punjab Government has decided to establish a new gas power plant of 1200-megawatt capacity to meet energy requirements of the country, Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif said on Saturday.

Presiding over a meeting in Lahore, he said, “Approximately Rs 168 billion have been saved in gas projects of 3600-megawatt.” Shahbaz Sharif said, “1320-megawatt Sahiwal Coal Power Plant has been completed in a record period of time.”

The Chief Minister said, “Load shedding has been sufficiently decreased due to completion of energy projects.”

During the meeting, German experts assured of providing technical cooperation for new gas power project.
