3 hurt in Indian army firing on protesters in Bandipora

SRINAGAR, Aug. 05 (TNS): Three young persons were injured after Indian army opened fire on protesters in Bandipora district of occupied Kashmir on Saturday.

The injured have been identified as Hilal Ahmed Wani, Latief Ahmed Khan and Suhail Ahmed Butt from Saderkoot Bala. All the injured were shifted to Soura Institute of Medical Sciences in Srinagar for treatment.

People took to the streets in Saderkoot Bala area of the district to protest against the killing of a local youth, Abid Hamid Mir, by Indian troops in Sopore area of Baramulla district. Abid Hamid Mir and two other youth were killed by the troops in Amargarh area of Sopore this morning.

Indian Army personnel fired bullets, pellets and teargas shells on the protesters. Three youth received bullet injuries while many others sustained pellet injuries.

Meanwhile, demonstrations against the killing of the youth were also held in Sopore and Hajin areas of Bandipora district.
