Muhammad Ali left his fans astounded 12 years ago today when he left this mortal world.
Muhammad Ali reined the film industry for 25 years and won 10 Nigar awards, eight of them were awarded to him for best actor.
He was known as the King of Emotions due to his amazing expressions and vibrant voice; he had the power to charm the audience through his emotions. The best aspect of his acting was he could touch the hearts of the audience and his expressions were second to none.
The deep involvement of Muhammad Ali into his film-characters was magical and this was the reason his films remain evergreen even after so many decades.
Muhammad Ali did not have an easy pathway towards success; in his debut film “Chiragh Jalta Hai” he was cast as a ferocious villain in the movie and those were his first footsteps in the industry.
His major achievement in the film industry was the accolades he received for his supporting role in Khamosh Raho (1964).
The arrival of Muhammad Ali changed the trends of the rising Pakistani film industry and he gave a tough competition to film stars like Waheed Murad and later Nadeem Baig as he followed in the footsteps of Sudhir and Santosh Kumar.
Muhammad Ali grabbed his first Nigar award for best actor in 1965 for film “Kaneez”.
He won back to back Nigar Awards in 1965 and 1966 for “Kaneez” and “Aag ka Darya” he later won subsequent awards year after year and became an undeniable Superstar. In 1968 he again regained the award after it eluded him in 1967 for “Saiqa”.
The 1970s also turned out to be a golden period for Muhammad Ali as he won 5 prestigious Nigar Awards in the decade. He won it for “Insaan aur Admi” in 1970 and also for Wehshi in 1971.He again conquered the symbolic award, consecutively for Aas and Aina Aur Surat in 1973 and 1974 respectively.
In 1978 he won his last major award for best actor for Haider Ali, Mohammad Ali was honored with the Pride of Performance Award in 1984 which is the third highest Civil Honour in Pakistan. He achieved another civilian award later (Tamgha Imtiaz) which is the second highest Civilian Award.
Mohammad Ali married his co-star Zeba in 1966 and their onscreen chemistry always seemed to be world-Class as they reached the peak of their careers after they tied the knot.
The evergreen and adorable couple later initiated their own production company named Ali-Zeb which produced memorable films like Aag and Jaisay Jaantay Nahin.
Mohammad Ali had his own aura, charisma, and dynamism and he was one star who etched his name in the history of film-industry with utmost dominance. The Legend will remain in our hearts forever and his legacy will continue to shine….
