LAHORE, July 14 (TNS): Punjab government on Friday issued deadline to vacate more than 300 houses constructed for low-income people. The notice was issued concerning the ongoing Ring Road project.

Talking to media in connection with the issue, Chairman Bahria Town Malik Riaz said, “We are building Pakistan and Punjab government is demolishing it.

He said, “People have invested billions of rupees in this property whereas the government had not issued any prior notice in this regard. People will stay in their houses at any cost as this land doesn’t belong to the provincial government.”

“We will raise the issue in Supreme Court (SC),” Malik Riaz continued

Meanwhile Malik Riaz says the Punjab Government is acting with a personal revenge, that’s why it has issued notices to vacate houses in Bahria Town at the pretext of Ring Road project. “If any building or house in BahriaTown is destroyed, I will arrange a historical press conference within an hour,” he said.

Malik Riaz said that on the 1400 kanal area on which 600 to 800 families are settled billions of rupees investment has been made. I ask the Punjab Government not to tease the residents. We will build an overhead bridge at our own expense for the Ring Road project.
