PBC announces countrywide protests for Sharifs’ resignation

Lahore, July 18 (TNS): In connection with Panamagate, Pakistan Bar Council has announced a countrywide strike on Wednesday to seek the resignation of Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif, Punjab Chief inister Shehbaz Sharif and Finance Minister Ishaq Dar.

Speaking to journalists, Vice Chairman of Pakistan Bar Council (PBC) Ahsan Bhoon demanded Sharif brothers and Dar to immediately step down as they have been proven guilty in report prepared by the probe team.

He also demanded disqualification of those nominated in findings of Joint Investigation Team.

Ahsan Bhoon also expressed confidence that the apex court would book the culprits and will take the case to its logical conclusion.

The members of PBC with Punjab Bar Council office bearers urged Nawaz Sharif, his brother Shehbaz Sharif, Ishaq Dar and their “collaborators” in connection with JIT report.

They also demanded disciplinary action against top leaders of ruling party under NAB laws.

The Bar members also vowed to protect the Supreme Court and saying that  they would not hesitate to foil any attempt to undermine the dignity of the Supreme court in the past.
