Islamabad, July 18 (TNS): Amid Qatar diplomatic crisis in the Middle East, Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif has vowed that Pakistan would maintain warm, pleasant and cooperative ties with all Gulf Cooperation Council states.
Talking to Qatar’s Foreign Minister, Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al-Thani here on Tuesday, the Prime Minister said Pakistan is concerned over the recent crisis in Middle East.
“The government and people of the country wish to see a diplomatic solution of the problem between brotherly Muslim states in Gulf region,” Nawaz Sharif told Qatari minister.
Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif, during the meeting, vowed to enhance the brotherly relations between two countries.
Qatari Foreign Minister briefed the Nawaz Sharif on Qatar’s response to the demands of a group of countries which included Saudi Arabia, United Arab Emirate (UAE), Bahrain and Egypt on the current status of the mediation efforts of Emir of Kuwait, Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah.
Nawaz Sharif appreciating the wisdom of the Emir of Kuwait said that Islamabad supports sincere efforts of Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah in finding a solution to the diplomatic crises in the region.
Visiting Qatari Foreign Minister also expressed gratitude to the Pakistani hosts for the warm reception and repeated Doha’s ambition to further enhance bilateral relations between Qatar and Pakistan.
