After taking up long awaited public welfare projects, Capital Development Authority (CDA) has geared up the pace of development activities


Islamabad: November 07 (TNS): These projects are aimed to cater future needs particularly traffic and housing needs of the city. Work on number of public projects is in progress which is gradually taking momentum while the work on the projects in pipeline would be started shortly. In order to gauge the speed of work, CDA management is ensuring effective monitoring of these projects.

In this context, a progress review meeting was held at CDA Headquarter which was chaired by the Chairman CDA and attended by the Member Engineering and heads of all concerned formations. The meeting reviewed the progress of different projects.

During the review meeting, directions were issued that in line with priorities of CDA management regarding initiation of work in stalled sectors, PC-1 for development sector I-12 be completed within the three (03) weeks so that developemt work could also be launched in the sector also to enable the allotteess to construct their houses on their allotted plots.

The meeting was apprised that for development of sector I-15 pre-qualification advertisement has been published in the national dailies. In this context, directions were issued that pre-qualification process be completed at earliest so tenders for could be called by the last week of November, 2019.

Instructions were also issued that casting of 20 grides at Burma Bridge by completed by the end of November and it was emphasized that project, in all aspects, be completed by March 2020.

The meeting was informed that development work at Park Enclave is also being carried out at fast pace. It was also apprised that test piling on the bridge being constructed at Park Enclave has been completed while construction of pillars is in progress. In this connection, Project Director Park Enclave was directed to speed up the pace of the work so that project to be completed within stipulated time.

The meeting also reviewed the progress of work on G-7/G-8 underpass. It was informed that in order to ensure smooth flow during the construction work, widening of the service roads i.e Service Road (west) G-8 and Service Road (esat) G-7 is being carried out prior to start excavation for the under pass. In this connection, instructions were issued that as Faisal Avenue is one of the busiest road of the city, therefore, proper arrangements be made to ensure smooth traffic flow on the road, however, its completion within given time frame must be ensured.

The meeting was also apprised that in line with the instructions of CDA management PCI-Is of Interchanges at Kashmir Highway i.e 7th Avenue, 10th Avenue, 11th Avenue and 12th Avenue have been prepared. These PC-1s will be placed before CDA-DWP for approval. The directions were issued that as the city is expanding day by day so expansion of road infrastructure is direly needed. In this context, it was directed that PC-I of 10th Avenue Road may also be prepared to cater traffic requirements particularly, in the western areas of the city.

Instructions were also issued that PC-II for IJP Road improvement and rehabilitation be prepared at the earliest so that consultant could be hired within this month.
