Islamabad June (TNS): While expressing his serious concerns over the Joint Investigation Team’s grumble against government institutions, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf chief Imran Khan on Monday demanded that Prime Minister Nawaz should immediately step down to pave the way for a fair and transparent investigation into the Panama Papers case.

While talking to the media outside his Bani Gala residence, Imran also demanded that the JIT report, which has been submitted to the apex court accusing government institutions of tampering with the records, should be made public so that the nation know what hurdles the rulers and their cohorts were putting to scuttle the probe.

While calling Nawaz a criminal, Imran said, on the one hand, he is appearing before the JIT while on the other hand, he was embarking on foreign tours. “What is his mooring in the international community? He is a money-launderer, corrupt and a wanted criminal. The Supreme Court should ask him to step down to ensure a free and fair investigation into the Panama leaks case,” he said.

The PTI chief alleged that Nawaz Sharif and Shahbaz Sharif and their henchmen bribe individuals, officials and heads of institutions, and when they fail to bribe or terrorise someone, they do away with him (vanish) forever. He said that putting hurdles to the JIT was also a grave crime. Imran said that the letter of the Qatari prince’s letter has no value unless he testifies before the JIT that he and his father helped the Sharif family purchase properties abroad.

He said that one of the Supreme Court judges’ has called the Sharif brothers Godfather of corruption. He also said that the National Accountability Bureau and the Federal Bureau of Revenue were protecting criminals, fraudsters and corrupt.

He also lashed out at the Election Commission, accusing it of furnishing fake forms and ballots before the Supreme Court when the latter was investigating the election rigging case.
