Pak Navy teams rescue people in rain-hit Karachi

Karachi, August 31 (TNS): Teams from Pakistan Navy are assisting the city administration in Karachi to control the unusual situation created due to heavy rains.

According to a naval spokesperson, navy is providing pumps to drain out water from several areas of the metropolitan.

Navy boats and diving teams are also conducting operations in Gawaliyar, Gharibabad and other areas of Karachi to rescue people.

At least 14 people have been killed in rains related incidents in metropolis as monsoon showers continue to lash the city.

In view of the precarious weather conditions in various parts of the province, the officials in Pakistan’s Meteorological Department (MET) office in Karachi has predicted heavy showers on Friday as well.
