ISLAMABAD Feb 17 (TNS): Pakistan Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (PCSIR) would impart training for Honey Extraction to Sareena hotels staff at Gilgit and Hunza under Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) and help establishment of Accredited Honey Testing Laboratory and Product Certification.
The project was finalized in a meeting here by a delegation of PCSIR headed by Dr. Shahzad Alam, Chairman PCSIR along with Engr. Irfan Ahmad Rabbani, Director General, PCSIR Laboratories Complex Peshawar and senior management of PCSIR, who met with Aziz Boolani, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of SERENA Hotels/Chairman Aga Khan Rural Support Programme (AKRSP).
The main agenda of the meeting was to discuss possible areas of collaboration with SERENA Hotels for SERENA CSR programme of honey for Northern Areas, an official of PCSIR told state-run media.
During the meeting, Aziz Boolani briefed the Chairman PCSIR about CSR Programme of the hotel, he informed.
The Chairman PCSIR gave a brief introduction of the council and its activities.
CEO, SERENA Hotels appreciated the efforts of PCSIR for industrial development and seek collaboration with it as partner organization to successfully execute its CSR programme in future.
Later, both the entities were also agreed upon training on reduction in Post-Harvest Losses with focus on value addition for locally produced fruits and vegetables as well as extending support to the local community for the uplift of their livelihood under the umbrella of AKRSP.
