PM to inaugurate 760MW power plant in today

Jhang July 7 (TNS): Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif will inaugurate a 760 megawatts (MW) power plant in Haveli Bahadur Shah near Jhang on Friday.

The ground breaking of the power project was performed by premier on October 16, 2015.

The project is a combined cycle power plant with a total production capacity of 1230MW fueled by liquefied natural gas.

Most effective and state-of-the-art technology has been used for the project with the efficiency guarantee of 62.44 percent production.

The first unit of the plant has been made operational in a record period of 21 months by the Power Construction Corporation of China and Qavi Engineering (Pvt) Ltd.

“Around Rs57 billion have been saved during the execution of in the project. The completion of civil works, construction of switchyard, cooling towers, fuel storage tanks and installation of gas turbine and generators has been completed in a record time,” said a press release issued by the PM’s Media Office.
