ISLAMABAD, July 11 (TNS): Chief Minister Punjab Shahbaz Sharif on Tuesday called on Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif at Prime Minister House.
During the one-on-one meeting, the Chief Minister and the Prime Minister discussed over the joint investigation report (JIT), which was submitted to the Supreme Court yesterday.
Sources told that both the brothers also reviewed the overall political situation of the country in the wake of JIT report and discussed government’s strategy over it.
They added that they agreed to vehemently contest the charges framed in the JIT report against the Sharif family.
It is to be mentioned here that the JIT had given a damning report regarding the Sharif family assets and other business dealings.
Following the JIT report the opposition has up the ante and is pressing the Prime Minister to reign immediately. The opposition parties have become active and contacting each others to work out a joint strategy.
On Tuesday, PTI Vice Chairman Shah Mahmood Qureshi met Opposition Leader in the National Assembly Syed Khurshid Shah to discuss post-JIT political situation and opposition parties’ strategy.
He also contacted MQM-P chief Farooq Sattar and other opposition parties.
