HYDERABAD, August 1 (TNS): A stay order was granted by the Sindh High Court (SHC) on Wednesday against the recounting of votes in constituencies of NA-230, Badin.
Dr. Fehmida Mirza who was contesting the election in NA-230, filed a petition in which she challenged the vote recount in both the constituencies.
Hyderabad bench of Sindh High Court summoned the concerned returning officer (RO) on August 03.
Dr. Mirza defeated Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) candidate Haji Rasool Bux by a margin of 860 votes in NA-203 in the July 25 election.
She secured 96,875 votes while her rival bagged 96,015 votes.
However, Chandio approached the returning officer (RO) for a recount of votes.
